Description
An Art Deco c. 1920s vase in black amethyst glass, a material developed in the early 20th century to evoke the depth of carved onyx while remaining luminous. When held to the light, the glass reveals a subtle violet hue.
The body is adorned with metallic engraved chrysanthemums, gently worn with time. The flower is associated with joy, renewal, and resilience.
Both sculptural and functional, a small drainage opening at the base allows for water to pass through with ease. For arrangements, a smaller vessel or pot may be placed within.
