Hand-carved in sandalwood and accentuated with a pure silk tassel, The Silk Comb is made to honor the intimacy of ritual and care. Each comb is locally carved by hand, where the natural grain of the sandalwood is preserved, allowing it to carry a smooth surface and scent. The organic finish of this material prevents static and promotes healthy hair growth.

Our custom made tassel is woven from organic, unbleached silk, alive with unique gestures of handcraft. It is created in Kalasin, Thailand, a region known for its communities of women artisans whose practice holds centuries of devotion, patience, precision, and beauty, woven into every thread of silk. Through this collaboration, Borne continues its commitment to supporting ethical craftsmanship, creating beauty that is both meaningful and enduring.

Care

This piece can be enjoyed as both a functional and decorative object, made to be held, or to rest on a vanity, coffee table, or bedside — living alongside the objects you keep close.
Avoid prolonged contact with water, intense sunlight, perfumes, or styling products, which may soften the wood’s finish over time. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth.
The silk tassel can be smoothed with clean fingers or eased with a fine, wide-tooth comb; if slight bends appear, a brief pass of low, indirect steam will relax the fibers.
